A successful event relies on concrete technical choices: the type of structure, the quality of the furniture, the management of lighting, and the regulatory compliance of installations. These decisions affect the comfort of guests, the flow of movement, and the overall atmosphere, whether it’s a wedding, a baptism, or a corporate party.

Inflatable structures and tents: regulations to know before choosing

Before selecting a tent or inflatable arch for an outdoor party, the regulatory question arises. The amendment of May 13, 2025, to the decree of July 25, 2022, applicable since June 12, 2025, requires that stages, tents, and demountable structures be suitable for their intended use and installed by competent individuals. This obligation applies regardless of the type of event or the location.

For inflatable structures, the supplier must justify the anchoring to the ground, regular maintenance, maximum capacity, and usage conditions. The organizer, for their part, must assess wind conditions, ensure continuous monitoring, and have liability insurance. Ignoring these constraints exposes one to administrative closure on the day itself.

In practical terms, this means that an organizer of a baptism or outdoor birthday cannot simply rent a tent and set it up alone. By looking for equipment offered by Imagin’Air Déco, it is clear that specialized providers now incorporate these requirements into their offers, from certified anchoring to installation technical sheets.

Room and table decoration: balloons, garlands, and hangings

Decoration transforms a neutral space into a festive venue. Three families of accessories concentrate the main visual impact: balloons, garlands, and hangings.

Balloons and balloon arches

Balloons remain the most versatile decoration accessory for a birthday, a wedding, or a corporate event. A well-sized balloon arch structures the entrance to a room and creates a focal point for photos. The choice of latex (biodegradable or not), inflation (air or helium), and colors depends on the chosen theme.

Helium provides an airy effect, but its floating duration remains limited. For an event lasting several hours, planning a re-inflation kit or opting for structures on metal rods avoids sagging balloons by the end of the evening.

Light garlands and hangings

Light garlands radically change the atmosphere of a room as soon as night falls. Several configurations exist:

  • Warm white LED garlands, stretched in parallel lines across the ceiling, create a starry sky suitable for weddings and elegant parties.
  • Large bulb garlands, hung in festoons between posts or trees, are suitable for outdoor events and casual parties.
  • Paper hangings (lanterns, pom-poms, fans) add volume without overwhelming, and come in all themes, from pastel baptisms to colorful corporate parties.

The combination of light garlands and paper hangings creates a depth effect that neither achieves alone. Hanging the decorations at varying heights (between one and two meters from the ceiling) avoids a flat effect.

Light and ambiance: beyond simple decoration

Light is not limited to garlands. It conditions the perception of space, the comfort of guests, and the success of photos. Two technical parameters deserve special attention: color temperature and directionality.

A low color temperature (warm white) relaxes and flatters faces. A high temperature (cold white) energizes but hardens features. For a wedding or birthday, maintaining warm white throughout the room and reserving cold white for the dance floor or bar creates natural zoning.

Directionality also matters. Solely overhead lighting (from the ceiling to the floor) flattens the decor. Adding low side sources (floor spots directed at walls or curtains) creates relief and highlights textures. Good event lighting combines at least two directions of light.

Event furniture: prioritize reuse over disposables

Tables, chairs, buffets, and counters form the functional backbone of any event. The choice between purchase, rental, and reuse is not just a budget question.

Reuse requires thinking about storage, maintenance, and transport. Furniture that is truly reusable must be able to be disassembled without damage, repaired, and adapted to multiple configurations. The mere mention of “reusable” on a folding table does not guarantee it will survive ten events if the hinges are fragile or the legs are non-replaceable.

For a regular organizer of parties or corporate events, investing in sturdy modular furniture is less expensive in the medium term than repeated rentals. The concrete selection criteria include:

  • Unit weight compatible with transport without a heavy-duty vehicle (a quality professional folding chair generally weighs between three and five kilograms).
  • Folding or nesting system that does not require tools for assembly and disassembly.
  • Washable and stain-resistant covering, particularly for tablecloths and table covers.
  • Availability of spare parts (foot caps, trays, seats) from the manufacturer.

Well-chosen modular furniture works for both a baptism of thirty people and a seminar of one hundred guests, provided these four points are checked before purchase.

Flat-lay of essential accessories for event decoration: silk ribbons, wax seals, brass card holders, and light garlands

The choice of equipment for an event is not just a shopping list. The regulatory compliance of structures, the coherence between decoration and lighting, and the actual durability of the furniture determine the difference between a successful party and one that guests remember. It’s better to have three well-thought-out elements than a collection of mismatched accessories.
